Teacher Role Model Essay

Recommended: Importance of education in society

Teachers have one of the most important jobs and help shape the next generation of students. While teachers have an impact on their student’s lives, students impact the teacher’s lives as well. Education is more than just going to school eight hours a day, and learning information, but it helps shape students into what they will be like in the forthcoming. I believe that teachers should be a model to their students, encourage them, and teach them through experience. We all have someone we look to as our role model; teachers happen to be a model for many of their students. It is important for a teacher to show their students between right and wrong and good and bad. One way a teacher can be a role model is by being a good person. We all have …show more content…

By doing this, teachers can prevent the students from making mistakes that they made. We, as teachers, have to share our knowledge with the students. By sharing useful knowledge, this can help them in the future. Jessie Stuart also had very good character, which is something that teachers can look to for an example. Stuart respected himself, he students, others and the place where he taught. When he made a mess, he cleaned it up. He did not blame it on someone else. Stuart also did not show favoritism in or outside the classroom. This is important in teachers. A teacher should not be a role model for a certain student just because that student is the favorite student, but all students should be able to look up to their teacher when needed. A teacher should be willing to help every student equally. Another way that Stuart was a model to his students, was by showing enthusiasm in his teaching. Stuart always seemed involved and excited about teaching his students and sharing his

Irving Layton discusses the topic of how education in schools, colleges, and universities are not achieving what they were intended to create. Schools were supposed to give students the tools to self-improve and the develop a mind to do so. Personal Role Model Essay

As children, we look to our parents to teach us skills that we need in everyday life, whether it be social skills or how to. Yet for a variety of reasons, some children do not have this personal role model for them to follow and learn from. For these children, their teachers may be the first adult to give them any sort of attention or care. As a result, a teacher can play a huge impact in a young child’s life. The Allentown School District’s high schools are both considered Title I schools, meaning that over 40% of the school’s students come from families that are legally considered low-income (www2.ed.gov). In the ASD, this number is nearly doubled at 88.7% (www.allentownsd.org). Most likely, these students come from homes in which the adults they live with are working most of the day and

Narrative Essay On Becoming A Teacher

Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.

My Role As A Teacher Essay

I believe education is one of the most important tools a person can have in life. Every child deserves to receive the best education possible. It has always been my passion to help each child discover their individual God given gifts and talents and to reach their full potential. Role of the Teacher When I think about my role as a teacher, one of the most important things I consider is the relationships I build with my students, parents, colleagues, and community members. In the classroom, I need to ensure that I create a safe, loving, and positive learning environment. In order to make all students feel welcome, I get to know their names, the correct pronunciation and spellings, learning their culture and background, and their …show more content…

Teaching Styles As an educator I need to be flexible in my teaching styles, what works one year, may not work the next, and even day to day can change. I believe that it is important that I reflect daily on what was successful and what could have gone better. I then make the adjustments to my teaching. As a whole though, my teaching approach I believe is very similar the the progressivism theory of education. “Progressivists believe that education should focus on the whole child, rather than on the content or the teacher. This educational philosophy stresses that students should test ideas by active experimentation. Learning is rooted in the questions of learners that arise through experiencing the world” (Cohen, 1999). In Knight (2008) he states that “Children have a natural desire to learn and discover things about the world around them.” (p. 104). This couldn’t be more true in my opinion, my preschoolers are constantly asking questions about the world around them, I have had some pretty interesting meal time conversations at school based on the questions and conversations about life these littles bring up! “Children’s interest, therefore, are the natural starting point for their learning experience.” (p. 104). This past school year in my morning class are students were really into bugs-so we did a whole unit on bugs, this

Teachers and Their Students Essay

I remember signing up for sociology, not having the slightest idea what it was. I figured it would be interesting since I had been told one learns interesting things in college. However, besides that broad piece of advice, I entered a class not knowing even facts as simple as the definition of sociology. Little did I know, I did not have to worry. On the first morning of class I was seated towards the front with my notebook and pencil at the ready. Maggie Hunter entered the room and it was evident that she was excited to teach and also open to learning from us. Her verbal language and physical language were the two things that made the most significant impression on me as they gave the message of commitment and openness. Immediately, as a

Reflective Essay On Being A Teacher

Being apart of the teaching field is often overlooked. Teachers don’t get the recognition they deserve. It takes time and effort to even be handed the degree. Working for that degree you have to go through numerous of classes which ends up with hours of studying outside of class. Leaving out the ACT, you have to have a 22 or higher score to be accepted into the teacher school. In my highschool experience, it was a big change for myself. I had an I.E.P at the time and my caseworker was Linda Rich. Not only did she impact my life but she impacted a lot of other teenagers look on schooling. She was a Teacher assistant for two years at Lake Forest High School also, a special ed and mainstream teacher since 1981.

White Dominance In The Classroom

I used to say a teacher that students remember positively and fondly. “Yeah, remember Ms. Mohamed, she was so nice.” But it always ended at that. All the classes before CI 4121 talked about classroom management and surface level the danger of colorblindness. And I took at that. But this class made me question, how and why would students like me? Would they like me because I gave them treats and parties? Would they think I was nice because I was sympathetic? I know for sure that I don’t want to be like Mustaf’s teacher, the culturally insensitive one. I want to be a teacher, whose students can learn from, and I can learn from them. Teaching has turned into a two-way street. In my culture, teachers are thought of as a second parent, but I’ve seen some teachers call their students friends. But I think there is a balance between formal and informal. I want my students to be able to come to me if they have a problem, a solution, something interesting or devastating to share. I want them to know I have their best interest at

Teaching Forward : Ed 105 & My Middle School Field Experience Essay

My strongest belief is that education is the foundation for success. Knowledge opens so many doors and opportunities that would not exist without it. The American education system should be no exception to the notion that we live in the “Land of Opportunity,” and each child should have the opportunity to receive a quality education equivalent to their peers regardless of who or where they come from. Through the ED 105 course at Clemson University, the readings from that course, and my field experience working with middle school students I have solidified my views toward the field of education and established personal goals for the type of educator I would like to become in the future.

Personal Narrative: I Believe In Education

I believe in education. Education has always been an important part of my life and has continued to help me advance in school and will later help me succeed in life. Although many people don’t see the value in education, I am a firm believer that education can take you places if you put your mind to it. For example, my mom was laid off from Zippo after 18 years of service and decided to go to college for a new beginning. After two years of college, my mom was able to complete her associate’s degree and get a job back at Zippo in the accounting field. If my mom can juggle college as well as being a full time mom, anyone should be able to succeed in college. Education is the building blocks of life.

Classroom Observation Report

My rapport with parents and credibility with their child determines what type of relationship I will have with my students. In order to effectively educate, a teacher has to develop a relationship of respect and trust, along with sacrificing along the way. This is actually an area I consider myself to be strong in because I feel compelled to speak with my parents in both negative and praises. By calling, encouraging, and supporting the parents, students

From a naïve young boy or girl to a future president, banker, pilot, accountant and computer scientist among many more successful careers. Therefore, education is the most important tool that children can inherit from their parents.

Why I Am A Teacher Essay

I clearly remember the day my mother brought home a small wooden desk for me. I cherish that desk so much because not only did I use it to do my homework, but I also used to play "school". Even though I was very young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. So the years went by and I was now a senior in high school and so close to achieving my goal of being a teacher. I knew attending college would be difficult, my parents, older sister, and I had no clue where to begin, or if it was even possible for me to attend.

With the completion of my second secondary education practical, I have now been welcomed into two different schools and been a part of two different teaching staff. The Values Of Education In My Life

Education has always been very important to me and my family. A couple months ago I started to read a book called “ I Am Malala” which talked about the importance of education. While reading this book I realized how lucky I am to be able to go to school everyday and learn something new as well. While reading this book it also made my jaw drop because I found out that there were people who were actually killing people and kids over education. Everyone should be able to
