We will begin by focussing on the theoretical perspectives behind the analysis that has been done to date and the controversy surrounding the definition of the concept of “trading” or “trafficking” in human beings.

The authors begin by discussing the debates over the trafficking definition and examining various theoretical perspectives on trafficking. They then analyze the role of organized crime and look at legislative responses, noting governments tendency to focus on the organized crime aspect.
The purpose of this review is to convey information and ideas on Human Trafficking that have been published by accredited scholars and researchers in Canada and worldwide, over the past 10 years. The review relates to the needs of survivors of Human Trafficking.
